Reflection
Exclamations of wonder at the Bible, its scope, its coherence across sixty six books written over centuries by many different authors, and its enduring relevance, are common among long-time readers and new readers alike. It is a library rather than a single book, containing poetry, law, history, prophecy and letters, yet it holds together around a single unfolding story of God's dealings with humanity from creation to restoration. What continues to strike readers is not just its literary richness but its personal address, the way ancient words about grief, hope, failure and joy continue to meet contemporary readers as if written for them directly. Paul described scripture as useful for teaching, correction and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16), a claim borne out repeatedly across generations of readers who find something unexpectedly relevant on nearly every page. Approaching it with fresh attention, rather than assumed familiarity, often reveals just how much remains to be discovered.

- How could you build more regular, unhurried time with the Bible into your week?
