Reflection
The phrase "trust the author" carries a gentle but profound theological idea: that God is not merely a character within our life story but the one writing it, and that trusting him means trusting his authorship even through chapters that feel confusing, painful or unresolved. This image resonates with the biblical claim that God works all things together for good for those who love him (Romans 8:28), a promise that does not deny difficulty but insists it is not meaningless within the larger narrative God is writing. Just as a good author includes tension, conflict and delay before resolution, a life of faith often involves seasons that make little sense in the moment but later reveal purpose and growth. Trusting the author does not mean pretending to understand every plot point in advance, but choosing to believe the one writing the story is trustworthy, skilled and good, even when the current chapter feels dark. This kind of trust is less about having answers and more about resting in relationship with the one who holds the whole story.

- What chapter of your own story currently feels confusing or unresolved?
- How easy or hard do you find it to trust God's authorship when circumstances make little sense?
- Can you look back at a past difficult season and now see purpose you couldn't see at the time?
