    Reflection

Sharing one's faith with someone whose reach and influence are enormous raises an obvious question: what would actually be worth saying, given the chance, to someone the whole world seems to be listening to. Scripture offers a useful model in Paul's approach before King Agrippa, where he spoke plainly and personally about his own transformation rather than launching into abstract argument (Acts 26:1-23). The gospel, at its core, is less a debate to be won than a story to be told, centred on the claim that 'God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son' (John 3:16). Conversations with influential figures carry no more spiritual weight than those with anyone else, yet they do highlight something true for every believer: opportunities to speak of faith often arrive unplanned, and readiness matters more than eloquence. What such moments really ask of a Christian is honesty about their own story, offered without pressure or performance.

    Questions to sit with

    • What would you choose to say if you had one honest conversation about faith with someone very influential?
    • How does Paul's personal testimony before Agrippa model a different approach than formal argument?
    • Why might readiness to speak matter more than having the perfect words prepared?
