Navy Seal finds God

Stories of hardened, highly trained people encountering God tend to catch attention precisely because they upend expectations. We assume that discipline, danger and self-reliance leave little room for anything as vulnerable as faith. Yet history is full of soldiers, sailors and others in demanding professions who describe a turning point that reshaped how they saw their lives. Such accounts are not really about proving God exists through a dramatic testimony, they are reminders that no amount of strength or training answers the deeper questions of purpose, guilt and mortality that everyone eventually faces. Scripture speaks of God meeting people in unlikely places, including a persecutor on a desert road (Acts 9:3-6). Whatever the details of any particular story, the pattern is old: people who thought they were self-sufficient discover they were not, and that discovery becomes the beginning rather than the end of the story.
