    Reflection

How do you know God is real? It is one of the oldest and fairest questions anyone can ask, and it deserves more than a quick answer. Some point to design in the natural world, others to the testimony of changed lives, others to the historical claims surrounding Jesus and his resurrection. None of these proofs work like a maths equation, but together they form a reasonable case that many thoughtful people have found convincing. Scripture does not pretend certainty is easy to come by. Even Thomas, one of the disciples, needed to see for himself before he believed (John 20:27-28). Faith, in the Christian tradition, is not blind assertion but trust built on evidence, experience and relationship over time. Younger voices asking this question publicly do something valuable, they remind us it is normal to want good reasons, and that the Christian faith has never been afraid of the question.

    Questions to sit with

    • What kind of evidence would genuinely move you closer to or further from faith?
    • Have you ever doubted something you once took for granted, and what changed?
    • Who could you have an honest conversation with about your own questions?
