A testimony on the power of God

Reflection

Testimonies about the power of God usually centre on a moment when something changed in a way that the storyteller could not produce or explain themselves: a life turned around, an illness interrupted, a burden lifted, a prayer answered with precise timing. These accounts are not offered as laboratory proof, but they do raise a question that purely material explanations struggle to answer. Could there be a personal force behind the universe that intervenes in real lives? The Christian scriptures repeatedly describe power as the authority of God to heal, forgive, deliver and transform, often working through the prayers of ordinary people. A testimony is one person's witness, not a universal argument, yet when similar stories accumulate across cultures and centuries they become harder to dismiss as coincidence or wishful thinking. The real point is not spectacle. It is that God is active, personal and willing to meet people exactly where they are.

Questions to sit with

• What would it take for you to take a personal testimony seriously rather than dismissing it automatically?
• Have you ever experienced a moment you could not explain naturally, and what did you do with it?
• If God really does respond to prayer, what is one area of your life where you would dare to ask for help?
