Abortion is everything....!?

Reflection
Few topics stir as much emotion, disagreement, and personal pain as abortion, and it is a subject that deserves to be approached with both moral seriousness and genuine compassion for everyone involved, including women facing extraordinarily difficult circumstances. Christian tradition has historically held human life to be sacred from conception, rooted in the belief that every person is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), and this conviction has shaped much of the church's public engagement on the issue. At the same time, engaging well on this subject requires more than firm conviction, it requires humility, listening, and practical support for those facing crisis pregnancies, rather than judgment alone. Churches at their best have sought to combine a clear ethical stance with tangible care, offering support to mothers, children, and families rather than simply opposing a policy from a distance. Whatever a person's view on the wider debate, the underlying value of every human life, and genuine compassion for those wrestling with an agonising decision, deserve to be held together rather than allowed to compete.
