Why Christianity is the only one that is mocked

    Reflection

It can feel striking that Christianity, more than many other belief systems, seems to attract particular ridicule in some corners of public life. There are likely several reasons: its claims are exclusive and countercultural, it has held a dominant cultural position in the West for centuries and so draws more scrutiny, and its moral teachings often challenge popular assumptions directly. Jesus himself warned his followers not to be surprised by this. In John 15 he tells them that if the world hated him first, it will hate them too, not because they have done wrong, but because their message unsettles comfortable assumptions. Rather than responding with bitterness, the New Testament consistently calls believers to respond with patience, gentleness, and continued good conduct, trusting that mockery is not new and that faithfulness matters more than approval.
