Jesus makes more sense

Reflection
The phrase Jesus makes more sense usually describes a gradual realisation rather than a sudden discovery, the sense that as life gets harder or more complex, the shape of the Christian story fits human experience better than the alternatives on offer. Suffering, guilt, longing for justice and the need for grace are not easily explained away by purely secular accounts of life, however sophisticated they become. This is not a claim that Christianity is true merely because it is comforting or explanatorily tidy, since truth and usefulness are not the same thing. But it is worth noticing when a worldview accounts well for the full range of human experience, the good and the broken alike, rather than only the parts that are easy to explain. C.S. Lewis once described longing for something this world cannot satisfy as evidence pointing beyond it. Making more sense over time is often how faith deepens, less a single argument won and more a pattern of life proving trustworthy.
