We have the wrong idea about who Jesus is

    Reflection

We've got the wrong idea about Jesus. Some picture Him as quiet, passive, and never wanting to offend anyone. But that's not the Jesus we meet in the Gospels. Jesus challenged religious hypocrisy. He overturned tables in the temple. He confronted corrupt leaders to their faces. He called out pride, legalism, and injustice, even when it made Him enemies. He didn't water down the truth to make people comfortable. Yet the same Jesus who rebuked the proud also welcomed the broken, ate with sinners, touched the outcast, and forgave those who came to Him. Jesus wasn't rebellious for the sake of rebellion. He was faithful to the truth, whatever it cost Him. Maybe we've become too comfortable with a version of Jesus who never challenges us. The real Jesus doesn't just comfort us, He transforms us. He doesn't call us to fit in with the culture. He calls us to follow Him. "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.", John 8:32
